Vehicle Loop Detector

Vehicle Loop Detectors for Vehicle Presence Sensing

A vehicle loop detector works with an inductive loop to detect vehicles at a defined location. Garrison’s LK-109 is a digital loop detector for applications such as vehicle-entry control. The detector, installed loop and connected gate or barrier controller must be selected as a coordinated system.

LK-109 Detector Functions

The LK-109 lists two output relays, four selectable loop frequencies within 20–80 kHz and two-color status indicators. Frequency selection helps manage interaction between adjacent loops. The product page also identifies motorcycle detection as an application, rather than a guarantee for every loop arrangement.

Design Around the Installation

Specify the vehicle types, loop dimensions, road surface and nearby loops before selecting settings. Confirm power requirements, relay behavior and the receiving controller’s input interface. Test the installed system with the smallest vehicles it needs to detect.

Request Application Guidance

Provide Garrison with a lane layout, controller reference, expected vehicle mix and quantity. Clarify whether the signal is used for opening, presence monitoring or another controller function.
